NetInstall requires the transfer of a single file on your web server. The script it contains will download the Piwigo archive from piwigo.org, then extract its content and launch the installer.
The NetInstall process may not work on your web server, depending on the level of features provided. If you can't make it work, just switch to the manual installation guide instead.
The Piwigo team recommends FileZilla as an FTP client because, just like Piwigo, it is free and compatible with Windows and Linux.
Start FileZilla and fill the following connection settings with the information given by your web hosting provider:
Click the Quickconnect button. You are now connected to your web server.
Select the piwigo-netinstall.php file on your hard disk drive and transfer it to the web server
Once the NetInstall script has transferred, go to its web address with a web browser, for example : http://example.com/piwigo-netinstall.php
Choose a directory name for your photo gallery on your website. By default, Piwigo will be installed in the directory piwigo. If you leave the Destination field empty, Piwigo will be installed at the same place you transferred the NetInstall script.
Run the “Retrieve and unzip Piwigo” action, and then “Install Piwigo now”
Now comes the MySQL database settings and the webmaster account to administer your gallery
Fill in MySQL database connection settings, as given by your web hosting provider::
The following is required to create the webmaster account:
Run the “Start Install” action.
You will be informed about either success or failure of the installation process.
Once the installation is finished, you can go into your gallery. Login with your webmaster account, and you can reach the administration panel.
You can get some help on the forum or find your own answers in the documentation
